The beautiful woodblock print 'Shimabara' (Shimabara in the Rain, Kyoto) from the "100 Scenes of Kyoto" series captures the serene beauty of Kyoto in the rain. The historic Shimabara district, known for its traditional architecture and serene atmosphere, is depicted with a willow tree and passing kimono-clad ladies holding umbrellas, creating a tasteful mood. The publisher's name "Kan-ei-do," accompanied by a red publisher's seal, along with the carver's name "Tomoaki Nishimura" and the printer's name "Kazuya Kenmochi," are featured on the left margin.
