This beautiful woodblock print "Tsukuba Yashiki-rin no aru ie" (A House with windbreak trees at Tsukuba) is by Koichi Maeda. This print is really bright and lively, full of light and wonderful colors with precision and details. Maeda is very interested in "Yashiki-rin" (Windbreak trees). Yashiki-rin (windbreak trees) around a home can reduce the cost of heating and cooling and save energy. Maeda saw different types of Yashiki-rin (Windbreak trees) in several places. Each place has a different style, depending on the weather, including the amount of snow and winds that they encounter. Maeda tries to show the difference of Japanese Yashiki-rin in his prints. Obtaining Yashiki-rin near households is a very traditional Japanese way, under the Japanese culture with wisdom and experience. Its rarity is one of the many beautiful aspects of Yashiki-rin. I truly admire his passion for incorporating many aspects of Japanese culture in his woodblock prints.

This beautiful print is by really cool Japanese contemporary artist Kozo Mio (1923-2000) He was born in Nagoya in 1923. The international contemporary artist (painter, printmaker, and illustrator ) who brought a new wave in a Japanese concreteness picture by a picture-like fantasy picture by the airbrush technique.
